Almaty Walking Tour available daily from April to November at 10:00 or 14:00 from the entrance of the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Tour duration - 3 hours.

Tour Description:

The walking tour starts from the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan, located in the close proximity to the Republic Square. During unhurried walk along one of the main street of the city you will hear narration about history and development of Almaty, and about attractions which you will encounter along the route, including the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Palace of President, Republic Square, Monument of Independence.

Upon reaching one of the stations of Almaty subway, you will have a short ride in the subway car to the next destination – Panfilov Park. This park is one of the oldest in Almaty, where Zenkov Cathedral is located, which is perhaps the most photographed building in the city. Here you will also see the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame, dedicated to the memory of the fighters who died for freedom and independence of the country.

Then you will visit the trade part of the city and will have a walk along Zhibek Zholy - the pedestrian street in the heart of the city, so-called “Almaty Arbat”, with comfortable benches and fountains, shops and cafes. This place is chosen by professional and amateur artists, offering their work for sale.

The tour ends near TSUM (Central Department Store), which is the best and the most convenient place for handicrafts and antique Kazakh jewelry. The top floor of this department store is a treasury of different national souvenirs.
