Package Itinerary

A day of skiing at the best and largest resort in Kazakhstan, meeting European standards of quality. This tour is suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers and freeriders. It allows you to enjoy both groomed slopes and off-piste terrain, with the possibility of organizing backcountry skiing near the resort.

Route: Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Season: December – March

Start Time: 08:30

Due to high visitor numbers during public holidays (December 1, 16, 17 / January 1, 2, 3, 7 / March 8, 22, 23) and weekends, long queues can be expected on these days.

Shymbulak Ski Resort is located in the picturesque Ile-Alatau Valley at an altitude of 2510 meters above sea level and is considered one of the best ski resorts in the CIS. The resort is known for its mild climate, a high number of sunny days, consistent snow conditions, and stunning mountain views. The ski season at Shymbulak runs from November to April, with reliable snow coverage.

The resort offers a wide variety of slopes, including gentle runs for beginners, long descents for advanced skiers, FIS-certified downhill tracks, untouched powder areas, and a half-pipe for snowboarders. There are also mogul tracks and challenging terrain for professionals. New routes are regularly developed.

The ski slopes of Shymbulak are certified by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The downhill and giant slalom tracks are considered among the most challenging in the world.

TOUR PROGRAM:

After meeting your guide at your hotel at 08:30 and boarding a comfortable vehicle, you will be transferred to the Medeo sports complex. From there, you will take a cable car to Shymbulak Ski Resort.

After a scenic 20–25 minute ride above magnificent fir trees, reaching an altitude of 2260 meters, you will arrive at the first level of the resort, which features restaurants, a ski and snowboarding school, and a mountain hotel.

During the first half of the day, you will ski using the lifts and explore local freeride areas. If weather and snow conditions permit, you will visit slopes such as “Dry Log” and “Cone.”

Lunch will be arranged at the stylish “3200” café, located at the highest point of the resort on Talgar Pass. Here, you can relax on comfortable sofas, sunbathe, enjoy lounge music, or sit indoors with a warm drink and socialize with fellow skiers.

After lunch, you will continue skiing at the resort or explore nearby off-piste areas. Depending on your fitness level and snow conditions, there may be an opportunity for a short backcountry excursion to a nearby peak, ending the day with a scenic descent on untouched snow.

After a full day of skiing, you will descend by cable car to Medeo and return to Almaty, with an approximate arrival time of 19:00.
