DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Almaty, Arrival

Arrival in Almaty, the southern capital of Kazakhstan. Meeting and greeting at Almaty International Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Almaty

Breakfast at the hotel. Almaty City Tour (3 hours).

The tour starts with sightseeing in the central part of Almaty. You will learn more about the history and development of the southern capital of Kazakhstan and see its major attractions: Central State Museum, Presidential Palace, Republic Square, and the Monument of Independence, Abai Opera and Ballet Theatre, Astana Square, Almaty Railway Station, Central Mosque, Green Bazaar, Panfilov Park, Abai Square, and the Palace of the Republic.

After exploring the sports, cultural, and business areas of the city (Sports Palace, Central Stadium, Kazakh Circus, Wedding Palace, Auezov Drama Theatre, Almaty Towers, Nurlytau Business Center, and the Financial Center), the tour will continue to Medeo Gorge. Here, you will have a brief stop at the large Medeo Dam, which protects the city from destructive mudflows originating in the western Tien Shan mountains.

At the top of the dam, at an altitude of 1,733 meters above sea level, you will enjoy a stunning panorama of the world’s largest high-mountain skating rink – Medeo, surrounded by the beautiful Trans-Ili Alatau mountains.

After the tour, you can return to the hotel or enjoy free time in the city at your leisure.
